Hi, I’m Alex
About Me
I’m passionate about the healing power of therapy and the importance of creating a deeper, more compassionate relationship with yourself. I believe humans are beautifully complex—and that by learning to embrace our imperfections, we open the door to peace, growth, and greater connection with others.
My approach is rooted in the belief that change is always possible. Emerging research in neuroscience continues to affirm what many clinicians have long observed: we are capable of growth at every stage of life. And more often than not, it’s our relationships—with others and with ourselves—that become the access point for meaningful, lasting change.
I have advanced training in the treatment of trauma, substance use, anxiety, and depression. My work integrates a range of evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I tailor these interventions to fit the unique needs of each client, drawing from your strengths to support healing and resilience.
I grew up on Nantucket Island and lived there until relocating with my family to Northern Virginia in 2020. Outside the therapy room, I find peace in nature—whether hiking in the mountains or breathing in the salty sea air. I look forward to connecting with you.
